Have you ever thought about how school and extracurricular activities can affect a student? This particular student provided the interviewer with valuable insights into her daily life and activities.
This Montview resident is Gracie Orenday-Ortiz, a sophomore at Montview High School. She uses she/her pronouns and is currently in a filmmaking club, but plans to try out for soccer in the spring. She used to participate in art club, volleyball, and was part of GSA.
“I’m planning on doing soccer in the spring, so once that comes around I’m going to do that again,” Orenday said. “I also did volleyball, but this year I’m just going to focus on soccer.”
Orenday enjoys several activities. For example, she loves art-related activities, dancing, and reading and writing novels. To stay organized, she uses a calendar for scheduling events.
In the future, Orenday plans to visit a country in Asia. With this in mind, she would like to learn some Asian languages, such as Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.
“I would also want to learn another language like Mandarin or Japanese or something like that because I would like to visit Asia at some point,” Orenday stated.
When asked about her top three strengths and weaknesses, she believes that her strengths are optimism, passion, and creativity. On the other hand, her top three weaknesses are teamwork, courage, and organization.
“I’d like to say that I’m optimistic, because really like when bad stuff is going on in life, I kind of just persevere and push through it,” Orenday said.
Interestingly, she enjoys a variety of activities in her free time. When she has time to spare, she likes to watch movies or shows and play games with her family and friends.
“In my free time, I do like, a lot of leisure kind of stuff. I like to watch a lot of movies or shows, and sometimes I like to play games with my brothers and my friends,” Orenday stated.
Despite engaging in these activities when she has some free time, she also mentions that she enjoys having conversations with her family members.
“Other times, I kind of just like talking, like having a conversation between my family and friends,” Orenday added.
To summarize, this Montview resident is very active. From filmmaking to language learning, she embodies the spirit of Montview as a sophomore at Montview High School.
