The war in Israel and Gaza is still taking place, and our hearts go out to those affected by these current events, particularly members of our school community. Since DSST Montview is a school with students of diverse backgrounds, we have selected a series of diverse organizations that people can consider contributing to. A particular aspect of the conflict that is deeply affecting both Israel and Palestine would be humanitarian issues. Both Israeli and Palestinian citizens are struggling with humanitarian crises, and it is imperative that action is taken to combat these issues. Please consider contributing whatever you can to at least one of these organizations listed below.
Doctors without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) – “an ‘independent and impartial humanitarian organization’ that delivers emergency medical care in places that need it.” (NPR) Doctors without Borders is not currently running medical programs in Israel, but has offered aid to those who need it. Doctors without Borders is currently operating in Gaza, trying to meet emergency needs there. https://tinyurl.com/c83e2xkt
The International Committee of the Red Cross – the Red Cross is providing medical aid to both Gaza and Israel. The Red Cross collaborates with Magen David Adom (Israel) and the Palestine Red Crescent Society to help the wounded, sick, and those in need. https://tinyurl.com/bdw8e4y9
IRC (International Rescue Committee) – The IRC is currently providing different aid services on the ground in the Middle East, particularly Gaza. https://tinyurl.com/22yw9eb4
